Scissortail Residence
A cheerful, family-centered home layered with personality, color, and thoughtful finishing details that transformed a beautiful house into a truly lived-in home.
The Direction
The Vision
The goal was to create a home that felt welcoming, energetic, and designed for real family living. With traditional architectural bones already in place, the direction leaned into approachable elegance—layering in cheerful color, texture, and personality while maintaining a sense of timelessness. Entertaining and family connection were central to the design. Every room needed to feel beautiful, but also approachable and comfortable enough for everyday life.

How It Came Together
The Process
We approached the project through strategic moments of impact—using finishes, texture, and color to transform otherwise overlooked spaces. Wallpaper became a defining element throughout the home. In a hallway lined with glass-front built-ins, reflective wallpaper created a dramatic visual moment that immediately elevated the space and brought movement and light into the corridor. In the dining room and hallway leading to the primary suite, earthy grasscloth wallcoverings added warmth, depth, and subtle sophistication. One of the most playful moments emerged in the homeowner's office, where we embraced her love of blue and hot pink—creating a vibrant, personality-filled space that still felt cohesive within the overall design of the home. An especially rewarding transformation came in the breakfast room, which evolved from an uninspired everyday space into one of the most beloved areas in the home. Through thoughtful layering, color, and styling, it became a warm, inviting gathering space full of charm and character. Throughout the project, furnishings, accessories, and finishing details were intentionally curated to create a home that felt polished without becoming overly formal.

From Jenny
Every Home Tells a Story
Our goal with every project is simple: create a space that feels like you, supports the way you live, and welcomes you home at the end of the day. Seeing clients settle into a space that finally feels right will always be the best part of this work.
“Completed during the uncertainty of the pandemic, the process became about more than interiors alone—it was an opportunity to bring comfort, joy, and optimism into the home during an incredibly challenging season.”
