The Direction
The Vision
Designed as a second home for an Arkansas-based client, the goal was to create a welcoming retreat centered around family. With a first grandchild—and more to come—the space needed to balance style with livability. The aesthetic direction drew from a cottage-chic sensibility, layered with preppy elements: fresh florals, tailored plaids, and a palette rooted in blues, greens, whites, and soft neutrals. The vision was polished yet relaxed—a home equally suited for quiet mornings, family visits, and the joyful energy of little ones moving through the space.

How It Came Together
The Process
We approached the design by building warmth into the home through thoughtful layering. Starting with the clean architectural backdrop, we introduced color and pattern in a way that felt both intentional and approachable. Textiles played a defining role, with whimsical florals from Thibaut setting the tone throughout. These were paired with classic plaids and soft, coordinating patterns to create cohesion while maintaining visual interest. Furnishings were selected with both comfort and durability in mind—upholstered pieces that feel refined, yet are practical for everyday living with young children. Each room was carefully balanced to feel polished without being precious. The process was guided by collaboration—with trusted vendors, trades, and our internal team—ensuring that every layer, from fabric selections to final installation, came together seamlessly.
